The firm’s managing director Greg Smith said that he is set to clinch around 20% of the market and has the
capability for next-day delivery on the 300pp packs, which home sellers will have to provide from 1 June.
Smith said: “We have been working with the companies that provide the information for the packs over the past six months.
“We are 100% ready and any company trying to get into the HIP market now should just forget it – you needed to be preparing six months ago.”
Cats, which has its primary production hub in Swindon, is the latest of a series of companies to muscle in on the HIP market.
First Sellers Pack, based in Fareham, installed two Kodak NexPress 2100s and eight Kodak NexPress 2500s to tackle the sector.
VLM UK in Birmingham has also set its sights on gaining a 40% share in the market after moving to a new site and buying eight HP Indigo 5000s .
Cats is also close to opening another production hub in Manchester, to add to its sites in Swindon, London, Truro and Glasgow. The company has won seven contracts in the past two months.
Cats production director Martyn Jarrett said: “Manchester will be open in a couple of months to complete our planned network.”
Separately, ImageData Group has installed a new Muller Martini SigmaBinder as part of its strategy to attack the HIP market.
