Installed at the firm's Southwark base in the summer, the new Matrix MX-370MP from Vivid Laminating Technologies has replaced a Matrix Pneumatic.
Cascade, which has four locations and two production units in London, decided on the kit in order to offer its blue-chip clients cost-effective new bespoke embellishment options.
Managing director Richard Adler said: “Having been a Matrix user for several years we looked to Vivid in the first instance to provide us with a new revenue stream.
“The Matrix Metallic has quickly become our go-to machine for providing new and interesting added-value services to our existing and new client base.”
He added: “Not needing to go to a third-party supplier greatly reduces the cost and time it takes for us to fulfil an order.”
The Matrix Metallic offers digital, short-run foiling with simple setup. It employs an Omni-Flow deep-pile feeder for unattended operation.
The system supports the full range of Vivid Aqua Aura foils and spot UV-effect films, which have been tested on a range of papers including GF Smith Colorplan, Antalis Novatech, and Arjowiggins Pop’Set. The device can also be used to laminate, supporting Boss films.
