The London-based printer had four locations and two production units in London as of 2019. It was registered as Southprint Ltd, and a notice filed on The Gazette said Myles Jacobson of MJ Advisory was appointed as its liquidator on 16 September.
Listed active directors for the business at Companies House are Antony Adler and Richard Adler.
Cascade Holborn Ltd, which both are also listed as active directors of, had an application to strike the company off the register dated 3 October and filed at Companies House on 6 October, while another business, Fresh Start Marketing Ltd, which Antony Adler is also a director of, had the same document filed on the same date.
When contacted by Printweek, MJ Advisory had no comment to make, while at the time of writing there had been no response to multiple messages sent to the directors through various email addresses, and the contact form on the company’s website.
Three different phone numbers for the group listed on either its website or Google have each been called by Printweek several times and always go straight to a busy tone.
The company’s website is still live but Google searches for Cascade Holborn and Cascade Group South Bank list these branches as being "permanently closed".
The business had an estimated total deficiency of just shy of £505,000, according to its statement of affairs filed at Companies House.
Finance companies were owed over £215,000 in total while Barclays Bank was owed more than £48,000 for a Bounce Back Loan. Trade and expense creditors were owed just under £27,500 in total.
Founded in the 1980s, Cascade Group was a Kall Kwik franchise for nearly 30 years until the end of 2011, but had already made the decision to go it alone shortly before Kall Kwik franchise owner On Demand Communications (ODC) went into administration in December 2011.
Its offering included litho and digital print and design including direct marketing, reports, brochures, large-format displays and banners, business cards, and labels.
Over its time the group had run kit from Konica Minolta, Xerox, HP, Heidelberg and Vivid, and as of 2017 it employed 27 staff on a turnover of £2.5m, but recent figures are not known.
