According to managing director Eddie McGill, the Wirral-based company had problems when folding heavier stock that had been digitally printed.
He said: "We were producing things like cards, but because of the cracking, finishing was done elsewhere. We were asked to trial the scoring wheels and it has made a big difference. That work can all now stay in-house."
The scoring wheels were launched by Rollem at Ipex and Carson has now installed them permanently.
As well as the cards, Carson also produces A4 forms and stationery.
Carson corrects cracking issue
Commercial printer Carson Service Printers has eradicated a cracking problem in its finishing department by adding scoring wheels to its Rollem folder.
