Carlton Barclay cuts 166 staff

More than half the full-time staff at Basildon printer Carlton Barclay have been made redundant after the firm went into administrative receivership last week.

Joint administrative receiver Lee Manning said the cuts would keep the business as a saleable going concern.

He made 166 redundancies, around 60 of which were casual workers. The company is left with 100 workers and is still trading.

Carlton Barclays current management is among the parties interested in buying the business.
