Bamba, who was appointed to the role on 1 February, said he aims to build upon the company's success, which includes "strengthening ties between Canon Europe, Canon Inc and the other global regions, as part of our company’s firm commitment to becoming a truly world class organisation".
He will be responsible for the Business Solutions markets, which comprises Canon's print portfolio in addition to the firm's Consumer Imaging arm.
Bamba formerly worked at Canon USA in the position of executive vice president and general manager of the Imaging Systems Group, overseeing marketing operations for Canon’s office equipment product line.
He replaces Hajime Tsuruoka, who has held the position for seven years.
Bamba will be replaced by Tamotsu Nakamura, current president and chief executive of Canon Canada.
