Burgo and Neusiedler plan price rises

Burgo-Marchi Group and Neusiedler are the latest paper manufacturers to announce price increases with effect from September.

Their move follows Sappi, UPM, Klippan and Portucel Soporcel, who all intended to increase prices by between 5% and 8% before the end of the year (PrintWeek, 8 July).

This has been fuelled by improvements in demand for the first six months of this year, a factor reported by most manufacturers in their recent results.

Italian group Burgo-Marchi is to implement a price increase of 7% for both its coated and uncoated fine papers from September.

Neusiedler will apply a price increase of between 6% and 8% for all its office and offset papers, depending on the grade from 13th September.
