The central-German company produces a number of machines for the graphic art and paper processing industries - including litho and flexo presses, paper and tissue converting machines, finishing and automated palletising equipment.
It intends to offer the entire existing product range of Buhrs machinery, under the name W+D Direct Marketing Solutions and will remain at the failed manufacturer's Löhne base.
A statement said: "It is planned to complement the company’s current product portfolio with exciting new developments in the area of advanced inserting solutions for direct mail.
"With the acquisition of Buhrs, W+D has strategically strengthened its position as a leading supplier of envelope, direct mail and direct marketing production systems and solutions."
Dutch manufacturer Buhrs, along with its German subsidiary, went into administration in June this year, before two investment companies purchased the main business in August.
