The company, said it has had a strong 2012, specialises in litho but also has two Xerox printers better suited for digital work. Clients include holiday companies, for which it produces brochures.
It has recently invested in its operations - moving to new premises , installing a Northpak mailing line that can collate and poly-bag A4 leaflets. The company has also bought a Fuji platesetter, which was installed around six weeks ago.
The firm, which employs around 30 people, said it would use the new Heidelberg and coating unit to help boost capacity and decrease turnaround times. The XL 75’s ability to print solids on thick board without marking was deemed a major advantage by the firm.
The press is in the process of being commissioned and will be fed by the Fuji platesetter.
Carl Fleischer, Bournemouth Colour Press’s managing director, said: "We need to work faster. We can’t be waiting around for sheets to dry with the time lapse that involves. Coating meets that need and will also give work a better finish."
