However, PrintWeek also understands that ITI’s remaining employees, which totalled around 30, were all made redundant yesterday afternoon.
Trowbridge-based ITI, which owns bookbinder Chivers Period and digital printer Cpod, went into administration with SFP on 21 January.
Chris Hilbert, manager of the administration team at SFP, would not comment on whether or not staff were still in place at the two companies.
Boden, who bought Cromwell through his new company Baldwin, is, according to a source close to him, hoping to strike a deal with the administrator for Cpod and Chivers.
The source said: He is trying to do a deal as we speak, but at this point a deal has not been done. There is definitely some sense in him doing a deal, the ITI companies will definitely complement that of Cromwell.
The source also wished to clear up speculation regarding former Cromwell financial director Andrew Heming who has been rumoured to be part of the new management team.
He said: Andrew (Heming) is working with them in a handover capacity at the moment. But John (Boden) has brought his own team in, including a new finance director.
PrintWeek will have more once the administrator can confirm the current situation.
