Trowbridge, Wiltshire-based Cromwell Press went into administration with KPMG on 12 January, with 40 staff being made redundant.
The company was purchased today (27 January) by new company Baldwin, of which Boden is the director, but will continue to operate as Cromwell Press.
Boden is originally from the area and sold Midway Press, formerly Bath Midway Press, in 1998.
He said: "Living locally and knowing most of the former employees and management I have watched and admired the development of the Cromwell business since its formation 18 years ago.
"Cromwell has a great name in its own marketplace and I was saddened to see its demise given that it couldn't overcome its financial difficulties.
"I am delighted to have been able to purchase the business prior to its break-up and preserve a good number of the jobs there.
"Our priority now is to rebuild the business and reconnect with its former customers to restore Cromwell to the standing it deserves in print."
Boden buys Cromwell Press out of administration
Former Midway Press managing director John Boden has returned to the industry and bought academic book printer Cromwell Press from the administrator, saving around 20 jobs.
