Bissett buys new Polar 92X from Heidelberg

Flexographic printer Bissett Printers has replaced an old guillotine with a Polar 92X machine from Heidelberg.

It will be delivered to the East Kilbride-based business next month.

Bissett Printers supplies labels, cartons, sleeves and trays to a UK-wide market, primarily food companies.

It required a cutting machine that could handle havey weight cartonboard materials.

Finance director Peter McKinnon said: "We needed a heavy-duty machine to cope with thick carton board and we have specified air tables because for operators to lift 200 sheets of cartonboard repeatedly is an onerous task.

"Air tables will give us both health and safety and productivity benefits."

Bissett Printers has 24 staff and recently added a range of new services to its offering including packaging design and fulfilment.
