Bids for Buhrs could reach six, administrator claims

The administrator for Dutch finishing equipment manufacturer Buhrs has said there could be as many as six bids for the failed company.

Buhrs went into administration with insolvency firm Tagers earlier this month, after its banking provider pulled credit to the company.

Administrator Michael Moeijes told PrintWeek that he was expecting the final bid for the company today (19 July), after which the company's position would become clearer.

He said: "By tomorrow, we should know what the position is. Five companies have come back through due diligence and I expect to receive the last bid today."

Moeijes added that he expected a deal to be finalised within a couple of days once a preferred bidder was decided upon, depending on what the bidder was interested in purchasing.

He said: "If they only want the Dutch and foreign arms, we could do a deal quickly. If they want the German arm, which is in administration separately, we would need to negotiate with them separately and that could take longer. We will know the specifics tomorrow."
