The book printing arm of W&G Baird Group ceased production at its Guildford site to consolidate at Kings Lynn, but only three of its 61 staff were due to transfer (PrintWeek, 17 July).
The Training for Employment scheme, which is open to staff until the end of the year, provides new skills to improve their employment opportunities.
Biddles employee Kevin Lailey, who trained as a learning rep to co-ordinate the scheme, said the company had a significant training budget in place, which was being match funded by SEEDA.
Staff will be able to retrain for jobs outside the print industry.
