Bezier is investing in a new fulfilment and mailing centre for its Poole Corporate Print operation as it expands its beyond print strategy.
Managing director Gary Knights described it as a logical progression.
We are a printer, thats our core competence, but we are building upon that, and surveyed our clients to find out what they really wanted.
Adding back-end fulfilment and mailing services completes the cycle its the final piece, he said.
We have to be seen to be delivering a solution people arent interested in how many presses you have.
The new 1,452m2 facility will be split into storage and fulfilment/pick and pack. It will be run by Dave Johnson, formerly production manager at the Poole print site, and will start operating next month.
Initially, about eight staff will be employed at the new centre, augmented by casuals as required.
This is a six-figure investment on infrastructure, people and a long leasehold, said group chief executive Brian Dudley.
It will allow us to offer the same sort of full-service provision we offer at Wakefield and Bristol to our customers at Poole.
We see a genuine desire on our customers part to have a single provider offering more and more services.
Bezier Corporate Print runs four multi-colour Speedmaster 102s and has its own pre-press and finishing facilities.
It moved into digital print last year with a Xerox DocuColor 2060, which it uses almost solely for personalised work.
