PrintChannel.com, the provider of web-based print-processing solutions to printers, is launching a unique version of its print- buying application.
The version, called myprintChannel, lets print vendors give their own look and feel to the printChannel ordering workflow.
They will be able to offer online order processing, proofing and automated impositioning through a standard web browser.
Chief executive Oliver Pflug called the service a milestone.
It is the first and only e-commerce application that lets vendors control the look and feel of a commercially available print procurement system, he said.
He insisted firms like his should not insert themselves into buyer-vendor relationships: We are making our solution invisible to the end user.
Print vendors design their own HTML layouts and upload them through a browser on to the printChannel system to replace its standard screens. This gives them control of the interface they offer customers.
The firm, based in California but with a European HQ in London, said the version would be available in the fourth quarter.
