As a result of the decision, about 30 print staff are expected to lose their jobs at BemroseBooth's Wayzgoose Drive site in Derby, while another 70 staff will move to new facilities in the city – Wyvern Business Park.
A spokeswoman for the company confirmed that it was making 30 positions redundant as a result of the stategic partnership with Middlesex-based CTD Printers, but stressed that there were no plans to outsource the print requirements of its other divisions.
She said: "There will still be printing for the secure mail, the retail and the phonecard businesses in the old Derby site."
She added that BemroseBooth would continue the review of the structuring of its businesses, which began in January when it announced 50 job losses, in order to focus on the areas that are profitable.
"It would be fair to say that the business isn't now going to be static," she said.
Speaking to local newspaper the Derby Evening Telegraph, Kevin Hepworth, regional officer for Unite, said: "The company has recently had a change of management and it felt that, because of the seasonal nature of the calendar business, it needed to make changes.
"In the past, calendars had provided production work for about six months of the year – the remainder of the year would see staff help out in other areas of the business. But the new management obviously felt they did not want this to continue."
The partnership with CTD Printers, which has a long track record in the production of promotional calendars, including the Pirelli calendar, is expected to be bedded in by the end of this month.
