Bemrose Corporation, soon to become 4imprint.com, has entered into exclusive talks with an unnamed party for the sale of the 204-year-old diary printer Charles Letts.
Bemrose chairman Rodger Booth said: "We have entered into a period of exclusivity with one of the interested parties." He added that it could be a number of weeks before any details were finalised.
Booth said that the interested party had not indicated it would cut any jobs at Letts. "We dont expect any job losses as a result of our disposals, there will be no extra consolidation," he said.
The decision by Bemrose to dispose of its printing operations came after a strategic review by NM Rothschild. This suggested that the company would get an improved response from investors if it focused on direct marketing and the Internet.
