The Weston-super-Mare-based printer and printing.com franchise wants to hear from North Somerset schools which could become one of the tree planting sites.

Chosen schools will receive free trees from printing.com's planting partners Tree Appeal, as well as educational material to help children learn about how the trees will benefit the environment.

Printing.com has also announced it will be planting a tree for every eight orders it receives.

AP Design and Print's Rob Burrows said: "We want to encourage local schools to make the most of their grounds by planting trees. It helps create woodland habitat, increases biodiversity and, most importantly, provides an excellent learning resource."

Last year, printing.com met its target of planting 25,000 trees and is now aiming to double that figure.

David Bellamy will be attending five of the tree planting events during the year and believes the project will have long-lasting benefits.

He said: "Congratulations to printing.com for extending its pledge to plant 50,000 trees. Through doing so, printing.com demonstrates a real commitment to healing our environment which can be a benefit to us, not just now but for years to come."
