BBC highlights print's art opportunity

BBC 2 highlighted a burgeoning opportunity in the print industry during its show The Art on Your Wall on Monday 16 November.

The programme looked back across the past few decades at the rising popularity of art for the home, from ubiquitous Athena posters through to the mass market art of today that can be bought anywhere from musuems to Ikea.

One company to have taken advantage of the growth in popular art is The Art Group, which started life a quarter of a century ago as a stall in London's Camden market.

Darren Booker, operations director at the company, told narrator Sue Perkins: "It's in more reach of everyone... Art's becoming more fashionable and people will tend to decorate more frequently and change their art more frequently, which is obviously great for us."

The episode is still available through the BBC iPlayer.
