BAS Printers' buyer hails success of acquisition

The company that bought BAS Printers at the end of last year has praised its integration and said its order book for the next quarter is already full.

CCR Data, the Wiltshire-based data and mailing company, said that the risks involved in acquiring and relocating the printer, which was previously housed in the same premises as Borcombe SP in Romsey, had been justified.

Edward Spicer, managing director of CCR, said: "BAS has retained many of its clients and provided an additional service for us to offer to our customers."

BAS is focused on printing for the fine art market. The business complemented CCR's high-end client base, which includes Louis Vuitton and Chanel.

Spicer said that CCR had been successful in selling print to many of its customers, providing a "one-stop-shop" from data mining to print and mailing.

"It has been received very well, the European market wants to use the UK to print at the moment due to the weak pound," he said.

"At the same time BAS can now offer mail fulfilment and, most importantly, data cleaning to its clients."

Spicer said the high costs involved with running a print operation had been one of the biggest challenges, as well as the administrative side of the business.

Having bought the business in December, it was fully operational by January and has managed to retain a large number of its clients.

"We have a full order book for the next three months," said Spicer. "Welcome back BAS!"
