Wiethoff joined the UK operation three years ago, and has brought the organisation through a tough period that followed the merger of the Kodak, Polychrome, and Horsell-Anitec businesses.
He is taking up the new global role of vice president of KPGs plate business, which he said was an "exciting opportunity that was too good to pass up KPG are currently the world leader in thermal CTP technologies and our intention is to continue to be innovative and creative in our approach to new products that are customers require to grow in this industry."
Baber is a veteran of the pre-press and consumables business and has spent his entire career in the industry. He said his key challenge was "to find stability in a difficult market, ensure we are competitive in our product offering and profitability is maintained."
Babers promotion has led to the appointment of two staff becoming deputy managing directors: Christine Dooley and Neil Yeomans.
