The online version will be available on a Wednesday morning giving subscribers access at least a day before the printed edition in the UK.
More importantly overseas subscribers, in particular those in the US, will be able to access the magazine's content much sooner than is possible via the printed version. This is expected to help retain and boost subscriptions by giving subscribers more timely access.
This is not a new medium, its just delivering it by a different mechanism, said Haymarket Motoring & Specialist Publications managing director Simon Daukes. Its very important that its the same media for ABC and rights issues. It wont be an option to buy it separately from the printed edition.
Autosport will go live with the software by the end of this month.
ActiveMagazines European distributor is Applecart, part of Fresh Media Group which includes London pre-press firm Colour Systems. Managing director Dominic Duffy said: I am thrilled Haymarket has chosen to partner with Applecart to make Autosport the first magazine to take advantage of ActiveMagazine in Europe.
Haymarket also publishes PrintWeek.
