Himanshu Chopra, owner of the firm, said: "Closed-loop press-side scanning systems used to be only available for larger-format presses, but with this spectrophotometer device, press-side sheet scanning is now just a click away. This device is more sophisticated and powerful and eliminates the need for spot reading with hand-held densitometer, giving superior control across the job run."
Artz and Printz, which prints about one-lakh sheets a day, consumes 2,500 plates per month and 300 tons of paper has done work for Kerala festival, art books, consumer electronics, medical books along with posters, brochures for clients like Haier, Hogg Robinson (India), Commonwealth Games, Jumbo Electronics, Global School of Management and Kongposh Publications.
"Printers like us have to work hard to deliver quality and get consistent colour. Therefore, colour and quality devices like Easytrax will help us deliver quality and adopt the ISO 12647-2 printing standard, which I am aspiring to implement in phases."
Artz and Printz has a Heidelberg four-colour machine with in-house prepress facilities and support for finishing and binding. It has 20 people on its roster and notches an annual turnover of Rs 3-cr plus per annum.
The Easytrax was supplied and installed by Mumbai-based Advanced Graphic Systems, which manages X-Rite products in India.
