The new printer boasts a 3.3m print width, 1,200x1,200dpi resolution and roll-to-roll speeds of up to 218sqm/hr, and has joined a stable of Canon Colorado and Arizona wide-format printers on site.
Launched at the start of 2023, the Acuity Ultra Hybrid was first shown at Las Vegas’ 2022 Printing United show.
Arc’s purchase was made one year later, at Printing United 2023 in Atlanta, according to Ross Snell, the print group’s vice president for the UK and Europe.
Posting on LinkedIn, he said: “We said we went big at Printing United, but now you can see just how big we went – or should we say how fast, wide, and versatile!”
Snell said that the Acuity Ultra Hybrid was the first arrival in a new investment round for the firm.
He added: “I would like to say a massive thank you to the Fujifilm team for all your support, getting our machine to us so quickly, and putting up with our extreme machine testing requirements – not that it bothered the machine.
“We look forward to seeing many more machines added to our worldwide offices.”
Arc moved to its 2,800sqm Dartford site in 2022 from Lambeth, winning a multi-million pound contract for wide-format signage with property giant Landsec in early 2023 on the basis of providing a carbon-offset service, certified by Carbon Quota.
The company’s latest investment has come off the back of a strong 2022 for the firm, which saw its small-format business grow 72% as people returned to office-based work, and a wide-format growth of 44%.
The firm as a whole turned over £7.6m, up from £5.9m in 2021, employing around 48 staff.
