Applied Optical Technologies (AOT) has won the outstanding award for product achievement at this year's Product & Image Security Convention 2001 awards.
AOT won the award for the second year in a row, in the brand protection devices category, for its creative use of DOVIDS, in protecting revenue for the FIFA 2002 World Cup.
"We were delighted to win the award, not least as this time we were among our peers," said AOTs strategic marketing manager for Europe and Asia, Edwin Shufflebotham.
AOT will supply the 2002 FIFA World Cup with labels and tags with overt and covert security systems.
DOVIDS are diffractive optical variable imaging devices, similar in physical properties to a hologram. They will be used to guarantee product authenticity.
