The Essex-based direct mail company, which has recently changed its trading name from The Anton Group to Anton, has also invested in a Stahlfolder TH 56 with stop-start perforating capability to handle the company's rising level of digitally printed jobs.
Anton's Stitchmaster, which replaces an existing Muller Martini line, has been specified with four stations with the option to run up to eight feeders if required.
Michelle Knight, bindery manager at Anton, said: "We handle runs of 20,000 to 8m, probably averaging 1m copies. With a Stitchmaster it's very easy to interrupt a job and fit another in because the set-up times are so good. It's a very flexible line."
The company's new Stahlfolder, configured with a transportation and materials handling system, will work alongside the group's Scitex TD112 B1 inkjet personalisation system.
She added: "The gap between junk mail and direct mail has widened and direct mail is getting clever and targeting better. During the credit crunch, people will be wanting to target individuals and to increase response."
