Angwald, 54, was previously chief executive of SCA Hygiene. He will join Rexam on 5 January 2004, when he will assume the role of director and chief executive designate.
He will formally take up the position of chief executive after the annual general meeting on 25 May 2004.
At that time Brjesson will become non-executive chairman after Jeremy Lancasters retirement, a move that was confirmed earlier this year (PrintWeek, 4 September).
Stefans industrial background and his intimate knowledge of consumer products give him the right qualities to drive our company forward in our development, said Lancaster.
