The Ipswich-based commercial printer, which was established in 1845, invested in the Technotrans-supplied system for its Mitsubishi 3000 tandem perfector to cut the levels of ink waste on the press
Ancient House Press operations director Paul Sadler said: "Environmentally, we know that the supply and disposal of inks in this way is the better option."
He added that the method is more cost-effective: "Clearly there is a cost advantage in buying barrels as opposed to tins and as a company we need to be very aware of costs."
The 110-staff firm employs waste extraction systems to process paper and other materials as well as operating a VOC (volatile organic compound) reduction program.
The sheetfed and web printer also runs an Agfa T5000 flatbed platesetter, which has been modified to reduce processor chemicals usage by 20%.
