Bhardawaj is the senior vice president for Canon India.
"My focus is to get India into a higher orbit of creating jobs in manufacturing and make strong industry academia interface to build globally the best workforce in IT industry. As president, I will connect with all government ministries and the leaderships in industry, R&D centers etc to build India as the next big IT hardware hub," said Bharadwaj.
This is the second big achievement for Bharadwaj in 2011. In July, he was awarded Honoris Causa (the honorary doctorate) degree in the area of leadership and marketing in India as a recognition of contribution to Indian industry for the past 26 years.
MAIT as an industry group comprises of all IT hardware companies in India such as HP, Dell, Lenovo, IBM, Apple, Canon, Xerox, Ricoh, Toshiba, Konica Minolta, Cisco, AMD, Intel, Tyco, Samsung, LG, HCL, Wipro, TVSE, weP etc.
Additionally, JV Ramamurthy, president and COO of HCL Infosystems, was announced as MAIT’s new vice president for 2011-12 at the same seesion.
Alok Bharadwaj is the new MAIT president
Manufacturer's Association of IT industry (MAIT) announced Dr Alok Bharadwaj as its president for the term 2011-12. The announcement was made at MAIT's 28th annual session held at New Delhi on 26 September 2011.
