The Northamptonshire-based firm purchased a Zünd M800 cutting table in 2008 but due to increased customer demand it decided to trade it in for a G3 L2500 model because of its larger sheet size and greater capacity.
It bought the G3 L2500 for around £120,000 from I-Sub Digital after seeing it in action at the Zünd demo centre. It was installed in early May.
Allprint Display director James Daldy said: “We didn’t look at any alternative machines as we knew how well our previous Zünd machine had run. We never had a single engineer call-out with it.”
The G3 L2500 cutting table offers a working area of 2,500x1,800mm plus an additional 1,200mm when used with an optional table extension. It features an integrated variable vacuum system that reduces energy consumption and provides the ability to cut and finish materials up to 50mm thick.
The new table's larger size and added functionality will enable Allprint Display to offer packaging services to new and existing customers, which include design agencies, print management companies, POS customers and litho and screen printers that don't have digital cutting technology.
“It will also speed up our production throughput for our existing client base,” added Daldy.
The firm, which employs 12 staff and has a turnover of around £1.1m, started out as a screenprinting business before completing a conversion into a fully digital wide-format operation four years ago after investing in its second Vutek QS and a Mimaki JV5 printer.
