According to Alcan Packaging president and chief executive Christel Bories, the global packaging and aluminium group sold APF to focus on markets "where we already enjoy substantial scale and leadership positions".

"This transaction will enable Alcan Print Finishers to benefit from a new owner's perspective, which will enhance its future development," she added.

The trade finishing group, which has 21 operations throughout the UK, specialises in laminating, encapsulating and varnishing. Headquartered in Reading, it has a group turnover of 30m and employs 406 people.
