The Belgian manufacturer will also showcase new UV inkjet inks for flexible and outdoor applications and the latest versions of its Asanti workflow and Asanti Storefront web-to-print software packages at the exhibition.

The Jeti Tauro is a 2.5m-wide hybrid flatbed and roll-to-roll UV inkjet printer, while the 2.7m-wide Jeti Mira is billed as a “true flatbed” although it is available with a dockable roll-to-roll option to enable printing on flexible media.

Both devices are equipped with Ricoh’s 7pl Gen 5 printheads and come in a standard six-colour configuration (CMYK, light cyan and light magenta) with optional white, varnish or primer on the Jeti Mira, and optional white, double white or white and primer on the Jeti Tauro.

The Jeti Tauro H2500 can handle flexible media up to 2,540mm wide and 3.2mm thick and rigid media up to 2,540mm wide by 4,000mm length in thicknesses up to 50mm.

It has a maximum resolution of 725x1,200dpi and can output up to: 295sqm/hr in express mode; 138sqm/hr in production mode; 69sqm/hr in standard mode; 62sqm/hr in high-quality mode; and 41sqm/hr in high-definition mode.

The Jeti Mira can handle rigid media up to 2,690mm wide by 1,600mm or 3,200mm length, in thicknesses up to 50mm; with the roll-to-roll option it can handle flexible media up to 2,050mm wide and 3mm thick.

The Jeti Mira features a moving-gantry architecture and split-vacuum table featuring six vacuum zones, with automatic and independent control of the front and back zones. A 'print and prepare' mode enables non-stop printing, with the operator loading one side of the table while the other side is printing.

Agfa Graphics vice-president Inkjet Dominiek Arnout said: “We promised a series of new state-of-the-art products in the course of 2015 and we are happy to deliver.

“We truly believe the market will embrace these two new systems that make ultimate use of our dedicated ink technology and our tailored sign & display workflow.”

Agfa’s new AJ UV G5 FA ink is said to be a general purpose ink for a range of applications that can then be individually enhanced for specific applications and production requirements.

Its core features are improved flexibility, enabling high resistance to cracking and other irregularities arising from physical deformation of the printed media (bending, folding, stretching), and improved outdoor durability, including longer colour stability (reduced fading) and a longer lifetime on substrates like polypropylene before flaking off.

Agfa will also demonstrate v2.0 of its Asanti wide-format workflow, which features new options for printing white on transparent substrates, and its Asanti Storefront web-to-print software, as well as the Anapurna M3200i RTR White and new automation options for the Anapurna M2500i at Fespa.
