David Preskett managed the launch of the firms ink-jet products in the UK and has lately been in charge of international accounts in Europe. He has worked for Agfa for 10 years.
Although Agfas Sherpa range is used in the proofing sector too, the large-format versions are configured for display and poster printing.
Preskett also said the large-format market had different needs regarding media and financing, adding: "Its more than just the product hardware."
He thought there were good opportunities for growth on the continent.
The Sherpas can print up to 1,440x1,440dpi resolution and are integrated with the Agfa edition of the Onyx Poster RIP.
