"We have combined flatbed functionality with the versatility of a dedicated roll-fed unit in a single system, to eliminate the compromises often found in hybrid UV-curable machines," said Agfa inkjet systems vice president Richard Barham. "Adding this feature gives the market a cost-effective solution in one engine."
The 2.4x1.2m flatbed machine can handle reels up to 2.4m-wide with a maximum reel weight of 113kg, and combines a resolution of 1,200dpi with a maximum throughput just shy of 100sqm per hour.
It also supports inline opaque white and varnishing, with a choice of gloss effects.
In addition to standard rigid and flexible substrates including wood, foam, composite, corrugated, canvas, vinyl, polyester film, paper and fabric the machine can also handle ceramics, glass and lenticular screens.
