Firm shut down earlier this month

Admins appointed at Lexon

End of the line for Lexon

Insolvency practitioners have now been formally appointed at Welsh print firm Lexon.

The company was shuttered earlier this month after Lexon’s directors decided that the business had become unviable.

Susan Clay and Huw Morgan of Begbies Traynor’s Cardiff office were appointed as joint administrators of Lexon (GB) Ltd on 20 November.

The family-owned firm, based in Crumlin, had employed more than 60 staff and had sales of around £6m.

Lexon offered a wide range of services including packaging, exhibitions and displays, commercial print, and storage and fulfilment.

Group managing director Garth Davis said the difficult decision to close had been made due to a culmination of negative impacts, including input cost increases and late payment, which had made it apparent the firm would not be able to make a profit.
