Ian Brown, an administrator for Deloitte, told PrintWeek that he expected the end of today to be the final deadline for the interested party, with whom talks are ongoing.
A final deadline had been set for yesterday but has once again been extended.
Brown said: "I can't see this going on any longer than the end of today, but we remain hopeful."
Norscreen went into administration on 5 January after losing contracts from retail clients including Woolworths. It cut 22 jobs as a result and now has around 50 staff, according to Brown.
The company has an annual turnover of £10m, according to the PrintWeek Top 500 2008. It was founded by chairman Bill Hesse in 1972 and moved into its New York Industrial Estate, North Tyneside, site in 1998.
Administrator extends deadline to buy NSL
Administrators for Norscreen, which trades as NSL Integrated Print Solutions from administration, have extended yesterday's deadline for a deal to be struck.
