ACT hits record turnover thanks to repeat business

ACT, the Cardiff-based large-format printer, has celebrated its 15th anniversary by recording a record turnover of 1.34m.

The 20-staff business posted a 17% increase in sales, hitting an annual high since the business was established in 1994.

Run by joint directors Ian Davies, Antoni Dziemidowicz and Lee Saltmarsh, the company was the first UK customer to take delivery of the Virtu 3.5m UV hybrid inkjet printer.

Since that investment, the display printer has been able to print six-colour direct to flat sheet, as well as produce large-scale graphics for buildings.

The Virtu, coupled with a 64in Seiko machine, a HP Designjet 5000 and an Océ Lightjet, has helped the company to build up a 300-strong customer base that includes the British Army, the Welsh Assembly Government and Cardiff County Council.

Davies said: "Celebrating our 15th year in business is a significant landmark for ACT and comes at a time when we not only face the challenge of the current economic climate, but also the demanding but extremely exciting developments in print technology."

He added: "Our continued investment in high-quality finishes and cutting-edge print technology means that many of our clients, including many recognisable names across the UK, have continued to come back to us for further high-profile branding projects."
