ABR Litho staff win redundancy pay after pulling plug on printer

Employees at ABR Litho, the company formerly known as Abbey Green Repro, have been vindicated for paying to put the company in administration after directors ceased trading and left the business in limbo.

ABR Litho, formerly Abbey Green Repro, was put into administration on 30 April 2008 with Atherton Bailey when 19 staff chipped in £150 each.

According to administrator Malcolm Fillmore, information about the company would be revealed in the coming months.

He said: I have managed to get some records and information out of the company. Once I have gone over it, hopefully we can work out what happened here.

Staff, who originally worked for Claremont Press before it was bought by ABR Litho, have also now received their redundancy payments from the Redundancy Payment Office.

One former employee told PrintWeek: If any assets are available, then we will put in claims for the remainder of what we are owed by the company. But we don’t hold out hope.
