Why did you get into printing?
During my time at Northside I’ve learned that design and print go hand in hand. The more I invested myself in the pre-press side of my job, the better I became at the design part. Understanding the fundamentals of digital printing has been invaluable to me over the years and it’s something I find very interesting
What is your dream bit of kit?
A Wacom Cintiq paired with an iMac is all I need to be happy
What is your favourite TV programme?
I’m addicted to Jane The Virgin at the moment
Who or what do you hate the most?
When InDesign decides to crash! (Don’t worry, I always save first)
What is your favourite saying?
‘It’s only a bad day, not a bad life’
What is your favourite album?
1989 by Taylor Swift
What is your favourite book?
Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman. I’ve read it countless times
Cat or dog, or…?
I love all animals, but dogs are a firm winner every time. I’m a sucker for a cute furry face!
What is your greatest luxury in life?
Having a lie-in on the weekend
What is the strangest job you’ve had?
I can often be found dressing up as Rapunzel from Disney’s Tangled for charity fund-raising events. The kids (and parents!) get a real kick out of seeing real, live ‘princesses’ roaming around. It’s completely worth it for a good cause!
Who or what makes you laugh?
My colleagues in the pre-press department at Northside are hands down the funniest bunch of people I’ve ever known, even when they don’t mean to be…
Most embarrassing moment?
Anything related to cooking usually falls into this category. I’ve had three people instructing me on how to use the microwave before!
Where would you like to be now?
On safari in Africa! Or… anywhere warm in general
Which superpower would you like?
The ability to talk to and understand animals
Who would be your favourite party guests?
Marvel’s Avengers team
Where would you go if you could time-travel?
I love the Victorian era, although the fact that women had no rights would put me off a bit
What was your childhood obsession?
Drawing! I would draw over anything and everything, including (much to my teachers’ dismay) my schoolbooks
What advice would you give to your teenage self?
To cut myself more slack from time to time. When the pressures of GCSEs/A-Levels are mounting, teenagers push themselves a little too hard
How would you like to be remembered?
As someone who was both incredibly ambitious, but also kind. It’s important to go out and get what you want out of life, but it’s also important to show your appreciation to those who’ve helped you achieve those ambitions
Life is…?
“Like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get.” Forrest Gump
