He started off printing four-colour process work on a single-colour Heidelberg Kord 64 Press, (those were the days...). Andrew’s career progressed through various areas of print including estimating, production, sales and account management. “I love print and have worked in various print disciplines including screen, litho, digital and print management giving me a wealth of experience to share with clients and colleagues alike,” he says. Outside of work Andrew enjoys golf, cooking, weekends with his family and meals out.

Why did you get into printing?
I was destined for print, as my grandad owned a small printing business after the war and my dad was a print buyer for Shell so print has been in the family for three generations

I rarely have time to read books unless I’m on holiday, although I do like the author Dan Brown as his books generally have short chapters which I can read in between swimming, sunbathing and drinking!

I have always wanted a big boat and a big house... So it’s Cadbury’s chocolate!
What is the strangest job you’ve ever done?
I once worked as a milkman for four weeks, dropped the bottles, lost my way several times and even ran out of milk, hence choosing print!

Most embarrassing moment?
I was in a nightclub and thought I recognised a guy who I knew as a supplier and introduced myself to a confused look. It turned out that he was Gary Webster from Minder who didn’t know who I was at all! He was a nice guy plus was a good ice breaker though, as we both had a great night out together!

What’s your worst fashion disaster?
I had a copycat haircut and highlights like George Michael in the days of Last Christmas and Wham. Fortunately, I didn’t copy him with the earrings though

Back to the 1950s as the fashion was to always dress so smart and men even wore ties to meetings

Gaining an order for 500,000 perfect bound pocket guides produced in three days
What advice would you give to your teenage self?
Always strive for perfection, work hard and have the confidence to take more risks to get to the top of your chosen profession
