Where are you based?
KMS Litho is based in the very rural Oxfordshire village of Hook Norton (more famous for its Victorian Brewery than its printers)
How many staff do you have?
13 full-time plus two part-time
What does your firm do?
Commercial litho and digital print, and we also specialise in the reproduction of fine art giclée prints (we still scan original art). We have an enviable reputation locally as the printer to go to for slightly unusual projects
What’s your typical customer?
We do not have a typical client, it is so wide and varied. We do however deal with many schools, universities, publishers, SMEs, artists and galleries
Which areas do you serve?
UK wide, but we target Oxford and the M4/M40 corridors
What’s your USP?
We’re always prepared to go the extra mile to find a solution to an unusual project
What equipment do you run?
Heidelbergs: a Versafire, two-colour Speedmaster 52 and a five-colour Speedmaster 74, plus a large amount of in-house post-press kit
What’s been your proudest achievement in the past few years?
The day we made the final payments on our presses and took full ownership – to me they are my two Ferraris in the garage. Next year is our 25th so that will also be a proud moment
Where do you see your business in five years’ time?
A financially strong, stable business employing an energetic team and proudly producing print in the UK, working alongside digital marketers to deliver a client’s message
What’s your team’s favourite biscuit?
Divided opinion, but the democratic result is the Chocolate Bourbon
