Established as a small stationery printer in 1953 by the eponymous Frank Hickling & Frank Squires, the company was bought by Mike Wells in 1982 and subsequently acquired by his son Richard Wells and sales director Paul White 12 years ago. What equipment do you run? 

Three Heidelberg Speedmasters CD-74s in six-, eight- and 10-colour configurations. Our digital set-up includes a Xerox iGen4 and four large-format inkjet printers from Roland DG and Epson. We also have a large variety of finishing kit in-house, so we have complete control over quality

What’s been your proudest achievement in the past few years? 

Moving to our new premises 12 years ago. That move transformed Hickling & Squires from a small jobbing printer to what it is today. Luckily back then the banks liked to lend money…

Where do you see your business in five years’ time? 

We are currently working on a project to expand our facility by 650m2. The expansion will mean we can operate with greater efficiency and thus boost profitability 

What’s your team’s favourite biscuit? 

Our commercial manager loves ginger nuts!
