The 53.7mm-wide industrial inkjet printheads deliver 15, 30 and 45 picolitre drop sizes and are designed for both indoor and outdoor graphics production.
Leveraging the manufacturer's XaarDot drop optimisation technology, the printheads can output in either binary or greyscale modes, the latter allowing simultaneous printing with different drop sizes.
The Xaar Proton 15+ head adds internal ink temperature control, which enables the printhead to work with a broad variety of ink types and viscosities.
Its Proton 15 features individually lasered nozzles and Xaar’s ‘chevron’ actuator design, which the company claims help to provide efficient and consistent drop formation.
The manufacturer's new greyscale printheads broaden its wide-format product range and complement its binary Proton 35 and Proton 60 printheads.
The new heads were launched at the Shanghai International Advertising & Sign Technology & Equipment Exhibition this week, with several Chinese manufacturers demonstrating a range of Xaar Proton 15+-enabled printers throughout.
Xaar director of marketing Mark Alexander said: "The new Xaar Proton 15 printheads have been developed in close collaboration with our customers and incorporate the latest Xaar technology to ensure outstanding print quality."
