This is Dupont's third such installation since 2009 and has taken the overall tally of Dupont installations in India to seven.
Amar Chhajed, managing director of Webtech, said: "Since its installation it has enabled us to handle much of our plate making needs."
Chhajed explained that the focus of Webtech's activity is label printing and not plate-making. "But that was one of the bottlenecks in production," he said. "Now we are in a position to make plates in-house and in quick time, which in turn increases our productivity."
The Navi-Numbai-based firm has increased its job count per day by nearly 15% "We will certainly be in a position to up the count even further over a period of time," said Chhajed.
Besides bringing plate-making process in-house, Chhajed is also "committed to environment", even if it means at a cost to the company. "The system has eliminated the solvent washout and drying steps, leaving behind nothing to clean once the plate is on the press," said Chhajed.
Dupont, one of the world's leading suppliers of flexographic printing systems in digital and conventional formats, introduced the Cyrel Fast line thermal processing technology in India last year, a technology which allows customers to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
K Gururaj, territory manager of Dupont India, said: "We are happy that Webtech shares our conviction in the Fast technology to help them meet their quality and productivity needs, while demonstrating environmental stewardship."
Besides the latest installation, the other six installations are at Color Dot in Chennai, Pin Mark in Ahmedabad, BILcare in Pune, Reynders Labels in Bhiwadi, EIH in Delhi and Uflex in Noida.
