Duplo is hosting the weeklong event at its Addlestone, Surrey headquarters with partners Friedheim and Renz. Show guest VPress is also on site to highlight "web2finish", the pre-press to finishing capabilities achievable through the partners’ complementary systems.
Snow and ice has pushed a number of visits back to end of the week, but Duplo UK managing director Peter Jolly said that there were some "serious buyers" still to come.
He said: "The Finishing Alliance started as a marketing exercise between Duplo and Friedheim four years ago, and it has become much more beneficial than we first realised."
Renz joined the two post-press companies a year after they first decided to join up to confer on sales leads.
Jolly added: "Duplo are in the B3 market, while Friedheim offer the bigger B2+ machines, so now we can look at a whole business’ needs rather than just the area that one of us can help with."
Friedheim national sales manager for post-press Stuart Bamford said: "We are seriously considering doing it again.
"The market has never been so depressed and yet we have had 60 people sign up to visit the show. We’ve had customers coming from North Yorkshire and Cornwall who wouldn’t come if they weren’t seriously interested in buying."
He added that visitors who had not yet heard of the Audion CS-Matic shrink wrapper, launched at the show, had become interested potential customers due to its high-speed, simple nature.
Meanwhile, VPress eCommerce director Kelvin Bell said that the company had already exceeded its 40% growth target for the 2012/2013 financial year, hitting a 52% increase in sales by the turn of the year.
Bell said: "It's not all doom and gloom in the print industry, you’ve just got to go out there and look for the work. Web2finish is where print is at now."
