Vastex launches flash-curing unit for screen printers

Screen printing manufacturer Vastex International has launched a new flash curing unit for textile print production.

The F-100 comes equipped with a 410mm x 410mm heater and is available in both 120 and 240 volt configurations.

The machine is designed to partially cure ink during screen printing. This is carried out to prevent wet ink migrating during multi-colour applications when a second colour is applied.

It is also used when printing a light colour onto a dark garment. The textile is flashed once the first coat is applied to prevent it bleeding through before a second layer is printed.

According to Vastex International president Mark Vasilantone, the new unit offers a higher wattage per mm over the older F1-18 model it replaces.

The company is positioning the F-100 as a "low-cost" flash curing unit that can also be used instead of a conveyer dryer to fully cure for low volume applications.

This can be carried out with an optional rotary table that comes equipped with two vented steel pallets that allow the F-100 unit to double as a dryer.

"Textile garment printing businesses will use this machine but that does not exclude printing on other substrates that require multiple layers of ink," Vasilantone added.

Vastex International machines are available in the UK through Dalesway Print Technology, from £495 + VAT.
