The MS110-DDS production unit features a direct servo drive combined with roll-to-roll cylinder mechanism that offers improved pressure control.
UK and Europe sales manager Claudio Moffa said: “We are targeting the new MS110-DDS at companies involved with high-resolution printing on very thin plastic material and [other] expensive substrates.”
Moffa said the MS110-DDS was capable of producing from 200 to 2,000 pieces per hour.
“This is not extremely fast but the risk of waste material is definitely low due to the high accuracy and the elongation control," he added.
Key features include a front pick-up feeder with belt speed slowdown, for improved control of feeding up to the registration and gripper position.
Other features include a large LCD touchscreen, digital squeegee pressure control, print elongation corrector and ultra-sonic double-sheet detector.
Moffa added: “There are no similar machines on the market right now. SPS is our main competitor but in their product range we can’t see any cylinder direct servo-driven solution.
“This is our second generation of servo-driven screen printing press, which also introduces our new gearless direct servo technology.”
The new system improves sheet-edge accuracy with an optional CCD camera sheet-alignment system.
The press offers a maximum sheet size 1,140x788mm, while the printability on thin material and scratch resistance have been enhanced up to a thickness of 75μm.
Moffa added the system was first shown at an open house event in Japan in April, which had led to a number of orders.
“The machine adds tremendous productivity, whether you are a graphic printer, a heat transfer printer, or an industrial printer.”
Sakurai is also demonstrating the Oliver-66RCS multipurpose post-printing processing machine, and half-cut sticker process at Fespa.
