The 31st label competition organised by Finat, a worldwide association representing the self-adhesive labeling industry made the announcement. UPSL and Wintek bagged the awards out of 360 entries from 50 print firms across the globe.
Of the total 62 entries, India bagged 28 awards.
Award winning entries by Wintex Flexo Prints
Wintek Flexo Prints received eight awards at the competition, two category and six highly commended. The Himalaya Revitalising Night Cream label was announced a winner in the flexographic printing category. Printed on a Gallus, the label's unique aspects were the reversed out type for the four-colour tone areas and its "illustration within an illustration" concept. The second category award bagged by Wintex was for the Bon Gold Coffee. The black background with the yellow and gold inks on the flexo press made the label attractive.
UPSL's award winning entry
UPSL bagged the top award for it's Himalaya Eve Care label in the pharmaceutical category. Printed on the Mark Andy press, the job deployed the UV flexo process. The award-winning label enables the visibility of the dosage information, an important criteria for pharmaceutical labels.
In addition to the top award, UPS received four highly commended awards, one under the pharmaceutical and three under the flexo process categories.
The winners from this year’s competition will enter in the World Label Awards competition which transpire during the Labelexpo Europe in September 2011.
