An explosion at eReco, a company that specialises in electrical and print recycling, injured eight people with one victim airlifted to King's College Hospital in London.
M I Associates, which trades as M I Print and employs seven staff, has been told by the safety services that it will "never trade in that estate again" with the fate of the company's press and finishing equipment in the balance, at the time of writing.
"Two of our staff suffered minor injuries. We have not been allowed to re-enter the site since Monday and at present, it is unclear if we will be able to operate the equipment again," said Donald.
The B3 printer runs four presses including a Ryobi 524, a two-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster and a single-colour GTO as well as Horizon finishing equipment.
However Donald has acclaimed the response from clients and local print firms alike since the accident.
"The response from the trade has been wonderful. Customers have been in touch to let us know they would wait until we are back up-and-running and other printers have been quick to tell us that we can place work with them for as long as we need to," he added.
